    Setting Up

As with every XGIMI projector, the setup process is straightforward and effortless.

All XGIMI projectors feature a fast boot function, allowing the device to power on and display the home page interface in five seconds.

First off, you will want to ensure that the XGIMI MoGo 2 Pro is plugged into a power supply, next, press and hold the power button on the projector for two seconds to begin the initial setup.

Complete the initial setup and pair your XGIMI remote to the projector via Bluetooth by placing the remote within 10 cm of the device and pressing the two buttons indicated on the User Guide, this will cause an indicator light to begin flashing as the remote enters the pairing mode, as soon as the flashing begins, you can release both buttons. The connections will be successful as soon as a Ding sound is heard.

After completing the initial setup and successfully pairing your remote, you can use the fast-boot feature during future use.

To complete the initial setup, you must log in to your Google Account. Adding or deleting your account is simple.

Simply enter the Google Android TV UI homepage, go to “System Setup”, then sign in. Once signed in, you should see an option to “add/delete” a Google Account.

At this point, you're ready and set to start watching content on your XGIMI MoGo 2 Pro. There are, of course, multiple other settings that you should go through and adjust to your preference.

    Usability

The XGIMI MoGo 2 Pro is very intuitive and effortless to use.

The interface of the XGIMI MoGo 2 Pro itself is straightforward, from the outstanding ISA 2.0 technology to all the adjustable settings such as adjusting image mode, frame ratio, voice output, HDMI version, etc.

Upgrading the system is also straightforward, but keep in mind that you must have at least 50% battery life before proceeding with the upgrade.

The projector comes built-in with Android TV OS, which is effortless to use, but, unfortunately, does not support Netflix natively, nonetheless, you can always connect your favorite external streaming device such as an Apple TV, and use that for streaming instead, that way, you'll be able to use Netflix if it pleases you, alternatively, you can try the following unofficial workaround.

How to Get Netflix on the XGIMI Halo?

At present, XGIMI projectors do not offer Netflix integration due to its stringent licensing requirements and rigorous quality assurance tests. However, the team at XGIMI are diligently pursuing collaboration with the streaming giant to be able to integrate Netflix within the XGIMI ecosystem.

Meanwhile, the easiest way to get Netflix up and running on your XGIMI projector, is through the Desktop Launcher app that's available for download in the Google Play Store. This clever launcher provides a one-click shortcut to Netflix.

Simply head on over to the Google Play Store, search for the Desktop Launcher app, and install it.

After doing this, launch the Desktop Launcher app, and you'll see the NETFLIX app available for installation. Install it, and enjoy!

    Performance

Testing the XGIMI MoGo 2 Pro is when we can really attest to its true capabilities and worthiness.

We've tested the MoGo 2 Pro in various conditions, from indoors, to outdoors, from low-light conditions to daytime, from shorter distances to longer distances, and always streaming various kinds of content.

    Battery Life

Unfortunately, the MoGo 2 Pro does not have an in-built battery, nonetheless, MoGo 2 series projectors are the very first in the XGIMI line-up to support power supply from a power bank. Travelling with a MoGo 2 Pro is now more convenient, as users can utilize their adapter and power bank for supplemental battery when on-the-go without sacrificing performance.

    Sound

The MoGo 2 series projectors speaker specifications have undergone an extensive overhaul from the predecessor generation, resulting in a considerable improvement in auditory fidelity. It is equipped with two 8W speaker units that provide robust sound output, offering users with a more immersive audio experience. Compared to other alternatives in the market, this model boasts a double-sided sound field layout which ensures superior sound even at close proximity without compromising on fidelity—maximizing spherical and three-dimensional audio qualities for enhanced listening.

As a testament to MoGo 2 Pros unprecedented design, compared to its predecessor, the MoGo 2 Pro projector body is still compact enough for it to be held in one hand yet boasts an increase of 2.1 times in speaker module volume and an upsurge of just over 2.6 times in speaker power—all achieved through continuous efforts from XGIMI to optimize the shell material, shell design and acoustic passive radiator arrangement.

Incredibly, XGIMI engineers have succeeded at amplifying sound quality even within such a diminutive portable projector; with powerful basses & trebles – offering excellent audio quality.

Moreover, the MoGo 2 Pro projector body is furnished with a transparent bass diaphragm window situated on its back. This feature not only allows users to comprehend the inner configuration of quality sound that emanates from these projectors, but also renders them visually appealing.

The MoGo 2 Pro also has four distinct settings: Movie Mode for watching your favorite films; Sports Mode to listen to your favorite sporting events; Music Mode if you want an immersive listening experience while commuting or working out; and News mode if you need quick access to up-to-date news reports.

With all this in mind, the built-in speakers definitely provided decent sound quality, with speech being clear and understandable at all times, during more impactful scenes, the speakers do lack some bass, although they are the sound is still perfectly acceptable, but obviously don't have the same power as a home cinema system. That being said, the MoGo 2 Pro speakers are impressive for their size, and unless you are looking for a superior or outstanding sound experience, they'll do the job just fine.

    Image

It is critical that a projector can project an easily discernible image. To meet this demand, MoGo 2 Series models are outfitted with XGIMIs self-developed light engine – a cutting-edge technology that utilizes advanced optics such as high transmission coated lenses to minimize the loss of illumination along the projection beam. In addition, this model boasts brightness figures up to 400 ISO lumens, which exceeds those found in its contemporaries by almost 30%—effectively enabling it to fulfill different viewing requirements across varying scenarios and circumstances!

In addition to boasting color fidelity, MoGo 2 series projectors boast impressive performance in this area as well. Capable of displaying up to 90% of the DCI-P3 standard-range, these models can provide vivid hues with a level of detail that is unmatched by competing products at this price point.

The MoGo 2 series' D65 color temperature standard is widely employed in Hollywood as a benchmark for calibrating and rendering precise color gradients. With its superior accuracy, users can enjoy the true-to-life look of movies and original video content with restored details. Moreover, compared to rival technologies that may present inaccurate results—despite their claims – the vast superiority of MoGo projectors ensures viewers will get an authentic experience from every scene they view.

By integrating the self-developed industrial chain into its portable projectors, XGIMI has successfully equipped them with custom 3D ToF depth sensing modules and high-precision CMOS for the very first time. These modules accurately measure light waves' journey from source to projection surface, as well as their return path; this information is then swiftly calculated and fed into a mathematical algorithm that can produce an unprecedented 10,000 times more data than was previously attainable through single ToF sensors.

In addition to providing users with access to unparalleled details of their immediate surroundings—crucial for smart home applications—it also provides configurable algorithms which can perfectly adjust projected images so that they are fully adaptable in any given environment.

In our tests, the MoGo 2 Pro performed great in low-light, that being said, it isn't the best choice if you're looking for something that will also perform well under conditions that have some sort of daylight, in which case, the XGIMI Halo, with its higher luminosity, may be a better choice.

The MoGo 2 Pro is the first XGIMI projector to incorporate ISA 2.0 technology, which enables it to provide users with uninterrupted automatic keystone correction and autofocus capabilities that result in a more immersive viewing experience. Once set up, ISA technologies can be applied for multi-angle automatic keystone correction and focus adjustment without requiring any attention from the user—whether displaying horizontal or vertical images.

Moreover, intelligent eye protection is an essential upgrade of ISA 2.0. Created with families in mind—specifically those with kids and pets who may be wandering by or passing in front of the projection screen—this sophisticated feature automatically dims to lessen glare that could potentially affect their sight.

ISA 2.0 also includes functions previously available in ISA 1.0, such as Intelligent Screen Alignment and Intelligent Obstacle Avoidance. Due to product design and user experience considerations, XGIMI has implemented reasonable restrictions to prevent potential performance impacts from multiple functions running simultaneously. Therefore, when either Intelligent Screen Alignment or Intelligent Obstacle Avoidance is activated, the previously enabled uninterrupted Autofocus and uninterrupted Auto Keystone Correction will automatically switch back to Autofocus and Auto Keystone Correction.

ISA 2.0 technology with its Uninterrupted Autofocus and Uninterrupted Auto Keystone are different from ISA 1.0 which only had Autofocus and Auto Keystone, meaning that the Auto Keystone in progress and autofocus adjustment image which were part of ISA 1.0, don't show up on the MoGo 2 Pro.

Instead, ISA 2.0 ensures that it is possible to make autofocus and keystone adjustments to the image without any interruptions. These features are a great enhancement to the viewing experience and one of our favorite improvements!

XGIMI MoGo 2 Pro Review: Verdict

After our review of the XGIMI MoGo 2 Pro, we found it to be one of the best portable projectors on the market today.

As with previous models, the MoGo 2 Pro looks great, it has a beautiful elegant, solid, portable, and compact design.

This model is also a gigantic upgrade from its predecessor, boasting ISA 2.0 technology, and a massively enhanced audio experience.

During our review, we particularly loved smart features such as the uninterrupted auto keystone, autofocus, and the intelligent eye protection, obstacle avoidance, and screen alignment.

With 400 ISO lumens, the MoGo 2 Pro performs great under low to no light conditions, but naturally struggles when used in an environment where other light sources are present.

The lack of a built-in battery may be a dealbreaker for some—in which case you may want to take a look at the XGIMI Halo instead—but the fact that it supports power supply from a power bank, should solve this issue. Keep in mind that the fact that the MoGo 2 Pro doesn't incorporate a built-in battery, is also what allows it to incorporate so many new and upgraded features.

Also, it's worth noting that, as with every XGIMI projector, the MoGo 2 Pro does not natively incorporate Netflix, although there's a simple workaround as we've previously noted.

All in all, the MoGo 2 Pro is definitely one of the best options in the market for users looking for an outstanding portable projector boasting countless top-notch features.

All those events have driven me to launch RushRadar.
